Can chat room be created since the messages are posted every other second??????As fast as chatting online

Good suggestion. We (mods) did think of this before, but maybe the timing is not right. As the forum is getting a little quiet nowadays, creating the chat-room may cause the forum to become even more quiet. By having this chat-room, majority of people may end up there. Agree?

Anyway, we are still looking into this and may have it later, if it is viable.

MSN, IRC, MIRC, Yahoo Messenger - to name a few, are perfect place for you to chat. I think you also know that right? :)

exactly! why reinvent the wheel...

also, let me just describe the difference between a chatroom and a forum:

1. chatroom - everyone online at that moment jumps in a have a good time chatting with others. when everyone leaves, the chat ends.

2. forum - a thread is created and everyone participates. the thread does not end even when everyone leaves.

see the difference? in a forum, the thread records the discussion/chat and people across time zones can jump in and participate.... :)

my vote is to keep it primarily a forum. i've found it like a home away from home, and doesn't matter if i am in a different time zone or not. if we move to mostly chat rooms, then i doubt i will be able to contribute as much, and feel like i belong... it's a great record of all the different conversations we've had in here so far... (my 2 kupang..)

Chat room is an alright idea but I agree with Sila. Many of us are in different time zones and a forum will allow us to catch up on what's going on. Also - for those who are already forum addicts, having a chat room will only mean some of us might get sacked for not even working! Cialat lah!

It's up to a individual to visit the chat room or not. I believe every forumers should practise self dicipline to avoid neglecting office work and not blame it on the forum. All of us are big boys and big girls now. We should know what is right and what is wrong.

With or without the online chatroom, you will still see me around. Same time, same day :amused: Good day! :)

tak apa lah, sudah tembak, what to do. but i agree with the chat function. makes it easier and no need for ppl to just keep reloading to see what the other guy/gal said.

then again, KoChun's post wont be going up so fast anymore if got chat function ;p

If no one chats with me, then I will chat with myself. Like that, my posts count will go up even faster! :p

when the forum just started, i used to read every single post every single day - splitting threads and censoring stuff... after a while, no more energy liao :)

but i think we ahve now established some basic structure - so moderating is not much work...

i vote that we juz stick to this as merely a forum...for reasons that daBoss & Sila has mentioned earlier, and so that any1 at all can be updated on the topics.
those who want to chat can alwiyz use msn or yahoo messenger and chat wif each other mah...since its all on the public profile page :)

haha...guess with time comes wisdom (among us members) coz we've learn to create new threads freely if we r like sidetracking...and not 2 mention that sumtimes members oso remind each other to get bek on topic...b4 Mod can shoot u....bang, bang, bang!
