ahbau,
may i know ur height and weight pls? if can, ur bf percentage.
if your tummy is as big as kochun, then i would advise you to cut down your bf 1st before you bulk up and have 6 packs... im currently have 4 packs and the last 2 pack is quite hard... coz now im bulking up... n form one big tummy... when im reach to 75KG, i will cut down my bf and the abs will be visible...
so you need to go on diet (in gym term of diet, not gal type of diet ok). you need to eat well, sleep well and train well. if you dun have discipline, then you have FAILED the 1st important part.
food = you need to caluclate your daily intake calorie. from there, you need to know how many carbo intake, protein intake and etc... then slowly change to eat clean food. clean food = no fried food, no ajinomoto, no salt, no preserve taste and etc. wat clean food mean is plain cook and eat it. e.g. oat cereal. just mix with hot water and drink it. no sugar or salt.
clean food is not cheap, the cost of it might rise. i spend average around 1K to 1.5K for food, sometimes while my friends spend more than 3K for food, included those supplement food, protein, glutamine, creatine and etc...

GL, i belief he know what he's doing. he join the competition in bantam weight before and get champion. he know lots of these thing and experience it before. he kinda rich fella and can afford to play these expensive supplement. e.g. like buying those high class protein powder... costing around RM50++ per pack per drink. he wanna to give it to me to try but i reject. ahahaha...
anyway, dun worry so much about him. he's not taking creatine all the time. he take it when he join competition only. he still belief in solid food nutrition. :D

i read from net saying that walking to opis (from/to) is not consider as exercise coz you are walking at slightly higher than normal heart rate. thus, not conclude as exercise.

majority gym have personal trainer for you (FOC). for e.g. in FF. when you join, sometimes they will ask you what is your motive joining the gym. you have to fill in the form and submit to them so that they know. the motive can be, be muscular / tone muscle / cut bf / knowing more friends / know more female / male... and etc...
if you put want to know more friends, then the staff there will put focus on you but indirectly they will somehow having bad thought of you.. joining gym purpose is to kap lui. aahahahaha... :D
anyway, once you join, you are given a one time personal trainer to train you. from there, the trainer will measure your heart rate, doing cardio and carry weight... according to the target you set earlier on. they will guide you but i personally dun belief them lor... some trainer is sucks... teaching wrong movement yet so LCLY.

BMI
Risk for Weight Related Health Problems
20 - 25 Very Low Risk
26 - 30 Low Risk
31 - 35 Moderate Risk
36 - 40 High Risk
40 + Very High Risk
Body Mass Index (BMI) is one of the most accurate ways to determine when extra pounds put your health at risk. Experts use BMI as a measure for "healthy weight" because people with a higher percentage of body fat tend to have a higher BMI. BMI is defined as body weight (in kilograms) divided by height (in meters squared). A BMI score of 20 - 25 is associated with the lowest health risk based solely on BMI scores. A BMI of 25 or greater is considered overweight. A BMI of 30 or greater is considered obese, and a BMI of 40 or greater is considered extremely obese. BMI scores are inaccurate for athletes and body builders, whose BMI is high due to increased muscle mass, and women who are pregnant or lactating.
The higher the BMI, the greater the risk of developing health problems such as:
Heart Disease
Hyperlipidemia (High cholesterol)
Diabetes
Stroke
Gallbladder Disease
Some Cancers
Sleep Apnea
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure
Osteoarthritis
Increased Risk of Death
In addition to BMI, a waist circumference of greater than 35 inches for women and 40 inches for men is considered a risk factor for these health problems. Weight carried in the lower body is less risky.

Is there a different? Didn't know that. If someone wanted to lose weight, that means they have to go in dry. What will we get if someone goes in wet? What is the time requirement for someone to stay in the sauna? How about temperature wise?

Brigid McKevith, a nutrition scientist at the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF), said, "We welcome the fact that the Atkins diet is being studied scientifically and that randomised controlled studies have been carried out, because it's very popular with the public."
However, she expressed concern at the small number of people studied and the high drop-out rate, as well as a number of key safety questions that are still left unanswered. "There are several potential problems with the Atkins diet. These include long term bone health, as with a very high protein intake the excretions of calcium increase, so there could be implications for the health of bones," she explained.
"There could be difficulties for people who have an underlying problem with their kidneys or liver, because it would be putting more strain on those organs, and problems in terms of heart disease too, as it's a diet very low in fruits and vegetables. Also, it's very low in fibre, so in terms of digestive health, it's not in keeping with our fibre and complex carbohydrate recommendations."
Belinda Linden, head of medical information at the British Heart Foundation, holds similar views. "The new studies do not indicate a dramatic weight loss for excessively obese people," she said. "Previous studies have shown that weight loss from the Atkins Diet may involve muscle loss rather than body fat. Another potential problem is that it is so far unclear from studies whether weight loss is sustained over a longer period than six months. One of the studies shows no significant difference at 12 months."
She added that, "With minimal fruit and vegetables included in the diet, it holds serious implications for coronary heart disease and cancer. Diets need to be varied to protect against these conditions - and this one isn't. This diet requires further long term and larger studies before its effectiveness can be confirmed."

oiii oiii... dun argue lah.
some ppl might take it differently lah. i ownself experience this type of diet, i have the diet plan listing out how many calorie intake i need, how many carbo i need, how many protein i need daily...
the 30egg is per day... separate it out to 6 meals... so roughyl 5 eggs per meal... same goes to potatoes and bread and etc...
there are 2 ways of diet we take (for my gym gang)... one is the normal diet i do but not really effective enough. another one is called CKD... this diet is currently taking by my sifu and it is not easy to adapt into this dieting, is almost zero carbo.... less than 30g carbo intake per day...
wat is ckd? A cyclical Ketogenic diet is a low carbohydrate diet that induces a metabolic state known as ketosis and includes a period of high carbohydrate eating to replenish glycogen stores depleted by exercise....
remember not everyone can adapt it... this is dangerous...
wat jang said is true... many ppl will think wat i said is nonsense but if you really go into diet, then you have to minimise your muscle loss and maximise your fat loss... this is gym kaki way...
if you just go on diet and loss every, dun care about muscle, then i would say better dun diet coz you will be starting all over again... :D

for dieting (gym), we need a lot of protein daily.. i need at least 200g of protein everyday to make my muscle grow... i have to eat well, sleep well and train well. if you dun eat well during diet time (i mean skip meal), then probably you'll burn the muscle mass too...
rmr... when your body oledi used out all the carbo/energy, your body will trigger to get the carbo from fat if you used 55 to 65% of your heart rate. if you do more, the body will simply go to muscle mass and convert it into energy. it is much more easily convert muscle mass into energy compare to fat...
a lot thing need to go through and understand it...
note: this is applicable to gym fella. if you are old or have weak heart, PLS DO NOT FOLLOW THIS... it might danger your life...

Diet? I think no diet is da best. When u go on diet, your body goes into starvation mode and tried very hard to conserve energy. So when u eat normally agian, it tries to store everything. Oso when u diet, u tend to be obsessed with food and when too hungry, tend to rebound eat a lot.
My personal experience, after my first baby, wanted to lose weight, try to eat less, exercise, and it was frustrating that my weight was still the same adn i was so hungry. later, when i forgot about it and ate normally, the pounds just came off. So after my second baby, i ate what i like, and the weight came off (like it seems, faster....)

My BMI is 25 (h-178, w-79) but I would think that my ideal weight should be ard 76kg....
the BMI chart is a average benchmark for ppl. didnt mean it is 100% accurate. even when i do calculation for Nazlan and VC. is not 100% accurate... give and that...
if your ideal weight is 76KG, it didnt mean that you are not fat. probably (example only ahh) you have more fat in your body rather than muscle mass. tt's why you are heavy.
if you are body builder, your body mass should be higher than your body fat. all those body builder who joined competition like Arnold competition, weider competition, all their body fat is less than 8%... majority is body mass...
if you are slim and yet you know your body fat is high, then i would say it is fat lor... tt's why it is important to know how many BF% you have. from there you will know roughly how many muscle mass you have...

my workout mainly concentrate on chest and back only. gives you good posture. tummy area still banyak susah. when you do sit-ups correctly, the burning pain can be quite extreme. however, good way to get rid of the spare tyre, three important areas you need to do. (1) diet (2) weight training (3) cardio. doing sit ups and crunches are additional benefits. take less carbo and salty food. cut down on beer and alchohol. don't eat too much for dinner. don't bath right after you eat. that's what i do lor.
some people i know even wear belt and tighten it to go to sleep so that the muscles around your tummy areas are not stretched. that is why we get big tummy because the muscles around the tummy cannot support the load.

monay,
ok. let's me explain wat is diet mean for gym builder. gym diet is totally different from those ladies type of diet.
majority ppl diet, they eat less, eat salad and etc will reduce their weight but it is wrong. gym term of diet is you MUST EAT WELL, SLEEP WELL AND TRAIN WELL. we eat like normal. we just eat those clean food without ajinomoto, preserver flavour and eat plain food. that's why you have failed in dieting because you dont know how many calorie intake you need daily...
i need around 2,500cal intake per day. from the calorie, calculate how many protein you need, carbo you need and etc... very details if i go through. i ownself calculate wat i need to eat per day until i fulfill the 2,500 cal intake. then you wont go hungry.
advise: if you taking clean food straight away... your body wont take it. you have to slowly went into clean food and then pure clean food. if you're on 2nd or 3rd week of clean food and suddenly makan outside food, you will vomit coz your body cannot take it... i kena before... so adjust your daily intake food...
majority when i see my friends (lady) went to gym for the last few months, i didnt see changes in her... coz when she finish gym, she whack the food... so back to square one again...

my workout mainly concentrate on chest and back only. gives you good posture. tummy area still banyak susah. when you do sit-ups correctly, the burning pain can be quite extreme. however, good way to get rid of the spare tyre, three important areas you need to do.
GL have the point here... you see... the main rules for dieting (gym term ahh) is to diet, train well and rest well. this fella also hardcord but now got commitment in work, thus his body shrink liao...
GL, if you dun mind im saying, you muscle mass is not enough. you still can boost up. from your height, your ideal weight should be 72 to 73KG and bf is less than 15%. then your body... fuiyooo... keng chau...

they can knock you out with anasthetics, cant they??
Once they suck the fat out of you in a plastic bag, can use 'em as tiki lamp fuel, and watch them fat burn with sick pleasure written all over your face everytime you have barbeque <..no 'sadistic smiley' to pick from here....)

hmm...very good advice....yeah, u r rite, those 6 packs are really hard to built....actually the prob is some ppl do have 6 packs, it is jus dat u can't see them as there is a layer of fat situated there, so the muscles can't be seen...
hmm...I am not sure the rationale of not taking ur bath after dinner...can u explain dat part?
you are absolutely right. everyone has six packs. maybe not the buldging type but it is there. we can't see it because the fat is covering it. all you need to do it get rid of that.
bathing after meals.........i just follow instructions. not too sure why but i think it has something to do with digestion.

guy are easily store up their fat on their tummy.
if you didnt go on DIET and keep on doing sit-ups, i GUARANTEE the fat around your tummy still there and you didnt see much improvement. this happen to my gym fella which i advise him but he dun belief me. he've been doing sit-ups for 4 times in a week for consequetive 3 months plus, until now he gave up coz he reduce anything ...
you see... when your fat is there, doing sit-ups wont burn your fat around your tummy. you only will increase your abs muscle nia. so when you increase your muscle abs yet the fat still there, can you see the 6 packs or not?? you probably see one big pack. maybe your tummy getting much more bigger coz your abs muscle is growing.
i personally seen my abs when i go on diet... wow... can smile when i managed to see 4 packs when my bf is around 18%. if cut down to 15%, then i can see 6 packs. hmm...

some information about Hydroxycut supplement from my sifu...
Ok. First and foremost about using fat burner that WORK has its good and
bad(nobody get`s free meals in this world) side. It can be SAFE if it is
used PROPERLY. Just do your research and know the associated risks first.
Now, about the basics of a fat burner that WORKS. Fat Burners that work are
also known to be an ECA Stack. ECA stands for Ephedrine, Caffiene and
Aspirin. A STACK means to combine more than 1 compound together. With a
correct dosage of this 3 compounds, it raises the metabolic rate. Ephedra
containing Ephedrine Alkaloids is derived from a chinese herb named Mahuang
which is also sold in Chinese Medical Halls. Caffiene usually is extracted
from Garuana Seeds or Kola Seeds. Nowadays many supplement companies have
replaced this ingredient with something else ie. Willow Bark, etc. I will
say this one ONLY, whatever fat burner that is NOT an ECA Stack, KEEP YOUR
MONEY AS IT DOES NOT WORK no matter what hype is the advertisement. Yes,
the original formula of Hydrodycut was FANTASTIC(however the advertisments
are crap) when combined with a proper diet with or without exercise. This
is because the ECA dosage in it is very HIGH. Muscletech products are known
to be expensive(look at their marketing so go figure why the products is
expensive). They used to produce 2 version. 1 was the original formula and
the other Ephedra Free which was used to penetrate the Canadian and Asian
market. As you know by now, the Canadian & Asian formula does not work so
save your money there. Now their lastest formula is Caffiene free as well
so without the EC, save your money. Hydroxycut derived it`s name from it`s
main compound HCA or Hydroxy Citric Acid. The main purpose of this
substance is to block the conversion of carbs to fat in case of an
overspill. So common sense will tell, if you`re on a LCD(Low Carb Diet),
there is no need for HCA. So whatever fat burner you want to use, you have
to analyse your diet first and couple the fat burner to your diet not the
other way round. One using a fat burner may experience a weight
loss(water/fat/muscle) due to factors like the fat burner has got compounds
that limit your hunger pangs and increasing metabolic rate so that you will
`feel` very active so wanting to cardio or workout all the time. So in
actual fact its either you`re working over your calorie intake or eating
less than maintanence level. In other words, I`m trying to tell you that
the thing that made u loose weight is actually your diet, not the fat
burner. I can loose the same amount of fat into near competition condition
at 10% body fat with or without a fat burner aid. It just takes some
discipline in the area of diet and training. I only use fat burners and
cycle them with clen and t3 when i need to drop below 6% body fat.
The downside of using ECA Stacks is that NOT EVERYONE CAN TAKE IT. IT`S BAD
FOR THE HEART. If you want to take it, make sure you know the risk and
willing to except it and use common sense on the dosage. Right now, Ephedra
is listed as a banned item so you won`t be able to get fat burners with
ECA(if you know what is it and really want it and know the risks that come
with it and know how to use it, PM me but prepare to rip a hole in your
wallet). It got banned because some idiot decided to be smart and ABUSED
the item and died so the US state government said ban it, stupid right?
Body Builders has been known to use ECA Stacks SAFELY for many many years
on top of clen, t3, t4, etc. because they have COMMON SENSE and do their
RESEARCH PROPERLY. When i say Body Builders, I`m talking about real
experienced and knowledgable experts with encyclopedias in the heads, not
wannabes or gyms rats. Almost everyone thinks that an ECA Stack BURNS FAT,
fact is it is NOT. Surprised? To burn fat you need to have a deficit
Calorie Intake and during this stage your body will adjust itself to lower
the metabolic rate due to lack of food as our body adapts so less food, it
will work less hard. So if this is the case how are you going to burn the
fat is your body works less? Answer is ramp up the metabolism and 2 things
play an active role in this :-
1-Muscle mass which is metabolically active
2-ECA Stack(its a necessity but not necessary)
The purpose of the ECA Stack is mainly to ramp up the metabolism so that
you`re able to carry out your normal activites and still train hard when
you`re on a deficit calorie intake diet which hinders performance and
ultimately hinders fat loss. So those who think that by eating less and
less will burn fat? Think twice, that is why VLCD(Very Low Calorie Diets)
do not work. They burn a great deal of muscle mass which is not the
objective of losing weight.
I have a caution for you if you decide to use an ECA Stack. It`s a Stack
that raises metabolic rate hence promotes thermogenesis which produces heat
and in turn may de-hydrate you so keep yourself properly hydrated with
fluids and levels well above your normal 8-12 glasses or water each day.
Drink more if you need to, you won`t die. But be aware also that with the
increase in water intake, you will run the risk of water retention if your
diet is high in sodium(my guidelines is always not more than 2400mg sodium
if i`m dieting down) and if you`re running creatine as well, you need even
more water unles you`re using the new generation of creatine loading
mechanisms that uses tri-creatine mallate and Arginine(example of a good
and proven product is Sans V12 Turbo). It will also raise your heart
rate and for some cases, you won`t be able to sleep in the night so don`t
take it after say 4pm. And also stay away from coffee or tea as well as
they also contain Caffiene, you might run a risk of overdosing together
with the ECA Stack. And most important of all make sure you don`t have any
health problems and check with your physician first. This are some of the
basic guidelines that one should follow but sad to say 90% of them don`t
heed it or never bother to do so.
IMHO, If you`re not a COMPETITIVE ELITE ATHLETE, there`s is no need to use
any form of supplements. Supplements only come in AFTER one has exhausted
all options on DIETING and TRAINING both or have reached their GENETIC
LIMITATION. All you need is a sensible diet and exercise.
Some one mentioned that Arnold mentioned he used steroids. Competitive Body
Building is about building the BODY to it best and ABOVE Genetic
Limitation. Steroid are not BAD if they ARE USED SAFELY and PROPERLY with
PROPER KNOWLEDGE. I will not admit that I have never taken any as I have
been on many cycles and I`m very pleased with the results. Some people
prefer to use PH or Pro Hormones(which was legal last year and now it`s
also banned). Both are the same, PH is just a few steps pre-cursor
of the actual hormone which compare to AS which is less steps or none at
all. A proper planned cycle of AS yields better results and less side
effects than a PH cycle. Only idiots will die because they abused it and
also used it for long runs. There are however some elite athletes that do
use if for long long runs, this is because of high level competition with
super athletes in our century, those chose it because that is what keeps
them in business and that is their rice bowl and they also know the risk
that comes with it. Mainly body builders are associated with steroids in
the eyes of the public because their body is above genetic limitation and
it is just not possible to be a 300lb musclebound freak naturally. Other
areas of athletes also use them but they just never really caught the
attention of the authorities or governing bodies until recent years. Most
of the people or wannabe will give credit to their fantastics freak bodies
to steroids but they don`t know the whole story because they are not true
body builders. It takes a lot of dedication, time, patience and many many
years to become what they are, steroids is just a tool for them to go
beyond natural abilities after exhaustion of all natural methods. I for one
truly respect them as I`ve been riding on that path for many many years and
it ain`t no easy job brother. It takes years of work just to be able to
display the aw of 3D muscle on stage for a mere 15mins. The feeling of
standing on stage in front of thousand of ppl is something that is
wonderful and its a very proud way of displaying your own hard piece of art
work that you`ve worked for endless hours. Arnold has and is and will be
the best body builder ever in history as he has opened the gates of body
building to the world in all aspects and turning it into a professional
career. The history of steroids which got banned was because in the
international scene of competetive high level sport, not ALL athletes can
AFFORD to use them which those on them give them an extra edge. Steroid or
its proper name Syntethic Anabolic Hormones SHOULD ONLY BE USED IF ONE IS
AN ELITE ATHLETE AND HAVE EXHAUSTED ALL POSIBILITES OF DIET AND TRAINING
AND WHICH HAS ALSO REACHED THE GENETIC LIMITATION. And please be aware that
possesion of steroids is against the law but in some states, they have
steroid lawyers that can `counter` this. Steroids are classified as Class 3
Drugs in the US so it can be prescribed. But however our Human Endochrine
System is a very precise mechanism so its not wise to alter it too much.
Like I said many time, there are risks in everything. If one is willing to
take it, it`s up to that individual.
"‘Hydroxy cut’ effect are similar to steroids but much much more milder and
it is legal. "
- Nope, they are 2 different things doing 2 different things.

it is very hard to know whether you have water-retention in your body or not. i need to see it, then only can tell. did you sweat a lot? if you sweat a lot, probably there is some water-retention in your body...
as for 8-packs abs, yes... there is 8 packs but very difficult to make the lowest pack become visible as you need to do specific abs training to hit that part... normally we do 100 reps for 3-4 sets... continuously without stop. then next day your abs will sore...

not too long in sauna though........for you ladies, it will make you age faster too. water retention is good for certain areas e.g. your face. sauna removes water all over your body so at the end of the day........you may look thinner but also older. wat do you prefer now??? kekeke.

it's depend. i cant provide you the right answer for this one... better consult doctor about it.
if you water retention and you burn the water, you'll notice your weight will reduce. when im on diet, i went to workout and sauna... i lost 2 KG in first week. so 2 KG = combination of fat and water retention. my sifu know whether i have water retention when he pinch me...
1) body hot
2) sweat gland releasing a lot of water

about mahuang/ephedra, currently the US oledi ban it due to death of several ppl after taking it. if you know how to take it, it is very good and can reduce your body fat significant but ppl tend to abuse it and cause several ppl death after taking it. so far, all the diet pill sold in the world is without mahuang/ephedra. but some places still have it... :D
