Hello my ACS'ian Brothers and Sisters,

Lets us ALL (not just 87ers) share with each other thru pictures or photographs the memories of the ACS days, our families; whether you are married, dating, or even solo (we promise no one will accuse you of being narcissistic  ), glimpses of what we are doing with our lives right now ....etc

Hopefully this way we can get closer to each other by the images we have captured in time for posterity.....and sharing them thru the common bond that is our alma mater.

Here is my life canvas, abridged.

87 finish form five, spent months doing nothing xcept learn howto drive

88 masuk Unipertanian, lasted six months, cabut (scared of possibility of getting a course involving pulling crap out of a cows ass!)

89 masuk Kolej Damansara Utama, had fun and 'nice' experiences, was the only Malay guy (ok, mebbe just tiga suku Malay) left at the end of course

92 joined Auto Dunia as programmer , earned RM950 a month, I was ECSTATIC!,...I was an IDIOT!!!

94 Left Auto DUnia, joined a Bumiputra firm earned a bit more, got credit card, learned all about the credit card trap of making minimum downpayments monthly. Met my future wife when she did industrial training there. We Dated....fill in the rest yourselves.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/nazlan/Forum0002.jpg
Somewhere in Cameron Highlands, with my very first car. Bila kahwin had our first nite at Strawberry Fields...i mean Strawberry Park

95 Left Bumiputra firm, joined MOBIL, learned all about the real IT in the real world, and all about Jalan Raja Chulan traffic jam, kicked myself for joining a company based in the Golden Triangle, swore NEVER AGAIN.

96 Headhunted to join a Canadian company, went on six month training stint in Vancouver and Netherlands, came back and handled an aviation project for the next 7 years for the DCA.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/nazlan/Forum0003.jpg
Jalan2 in Delft.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/nazlan/Forum0001.jpg
Dinner with client and Dutch trainers..they were nice enuff to put the suckling pig dish right in front of me.....wooooookaaaayyyyyyy...

98 Kahwin Jeng! Jeng! Jeng! Explored 'the Next Frontier'. Canadian company sponsored ticket for wife to join me for refresher training in Vancouver. So had 'honeymoon there'

....9 months later The Hopeless Half and the Better Half made the first Half and Half called 'Nur A'liyah Iman' , So the duo became a trio.

2001 Opened own company to handle some jobs for canadian company, lasted two years. Made a good stash, enuff to indulge and splurge on my Home Theater hobby.

2004 Joined Northport. Became IT Auditor, now job description read 'Finding Fault with People's Work.' (Ok not really lah, but it could be.....)

oh yeah, skipped a year...

in 2003, 'Nur A'syifa Arwin' made the trio a foursome. (Arwin, So that mean I'm Elrond..... )

ok i give a quick synopsis of me:

i left ACS after my SRP, in the beginning of form 4 (1991) got shipped off to boarding school (against my will but made a deal with my mum and lost so i had to go)

finished SPM at the end of 92

lepak in sitiawan taking care of my grandma while my mum was at school, learn to drive car

june 93 shipped off to US to do pre-U for 1 year. forced to give up my dream of being a musician.

sept 94-june 98 did my undergrad (BA in econs)

summer 98 lepak in boston working my college part time job

october 98 officially joined the workforce (mak kata - kalau nak lepak, lepak kat sitiawan lagi murah. get a job or come home. so i got a job) worked as a Process Analyst, learned about workflows and wrote procedure manuals. became perantau (have been traveling almost every week to work since oct 98)

july 2000 met vin. fell in love :o

november 2000 switched to different company - much cooler software! still with that company now, although it's a "different" company - got bought by global corporation and hate the parent company :(

june 2004 bought house with vin

may 2005 to marry vin :D

and just for kicks - here's me & vin in 2001 or 2002, i forget lah:

one of the fastest ways to kill your calf and foot muscles! memang sakit. i actually wore one to a halloween masquerade party one time. i went as a witch. including the witch's pointy hat and 6 inch heels i could not clear doorways without taking hat off or tunduk down!! :D at the end of the night kaki pun bengkak! gave those shoes away terus. now stick to sneakers for running through airports, and boots for winter at work, and in the summer sandals. not much partying left in me... ;)

1992 - Finish Form 5... looking at result, decided not going to survive STPM for sure. Must find escape route. Rock-stardom was an option...

1993 - Escape route found, Masuk UTM for mechanical engineering. Wanted to do IT, but ACS 1991 seniors, Simon Ting, Suresh and Tan Peng Aun told me do engineering... bcos more glamour (those buggers). But enjoyed my course anyway, first year very fun. Rock-stardom still a dream, found some kakis in uni with same agenda...

1994 - start failing my second year uni subjects, because too much time spent having fun. Somemore Mechy course got lotsa pre-requisites (fail one, cannot do another subject the following year... like domino). Rock-Stardom looked very appealing now, total debauched life with no penalties...

1995 - 1996 - Tried cathing up, but realised too late, so resigned to the fact must extend Uni year by 1. Sad rockstar wannabe

1997-1999 - Had gilababi fun staying renting house with friends, masuk dean's list one-time somemore. Life Improving, rock-stardom looked possible

1999 - Started work, same company until now...

2004 - Start guitar lessons, rockstar plan initiated

2005 - Decided can be rockstar by age 40 (guitar bloody hard to learn man, considering a castanette now)....

This so far is the most colourful (and hilarious) life canvas for me !! He already got me laughing from 1st year already !!

1990 - Finish SPM at MRSM Perlis

1991 - Recruited by Malaysian Helicopter Services to be a trainee helicopter technician, and shipped to Perth Scotland for 2.5 years. The only other ACSian I bumped into there was Leong Kok Wai who came for 4 months to finish of his MAS engineering course.

1993 - Return to Malaysia, assigned to work at Kerteh, Terengganu after I exchanged assignments with another guy. Else I'd be working in Miri, Sarawak.

1993 to 2000 - Worked on Sikorsky S-61s and S-76s.5 days on 5 days off at Kerteh 13 hours a day. No pay increase for years. All workers treated like dogshiat. But the last couple of years I worked with ex-ACSian Raymond Dinesh Gabriel in his advertising services company part time, as marketing exec. In 2000 I got married, left MHS and joined Raymond full time.

2001 - Working in marketing, I also picked up a lot of computer skills in creative work as well. In October I parted ways with Raymond and went jobless. At this point in time, I picked up web design and honed more of my computer colouring skills.

2002 - Got screwed by conmen big time. Later, I got a job working as marketing at an IT company that specializes in telecommunications. Picked up more IT knowledge here. September saw the birth of my son.

2003 - Started a bachelors degree course (finally) in Information Technology at Unitar, Kelana Jaya. Got a job as in house illustrator for a children's book publisher (http://www.geocities.com/hishgraphics/ilmiah.htm).

2004 - Quit my job because tight schedule and workload meant bad grades for my university course. And god knows we all hate flunking out of college, no? Started going freelance... but for months nothing. Then near the end of the year, several freelance jobs presented themselves so I could breathe easier.

2005 - What next?

here's my little canvas since finishing school at home...

97 - finished SPM, managed a pretty decent result, grandparents so happy (they thought i was going to flunk big time - i spent most of form 4 and form 5 bumming about.... :o )

98 - moved to Wexford, Ireland; started in Loreto Secondary doing A-Level equivalent called Leaving Cert (LC); started learning French and English Literature (so darn difficult!)

99 - explored Ireland; also travelled Bayeux, Paris, Munich, Salzburg and London

00 - LC exam, much better result than SPM (thank god!); home for holiday first time round, met up with old friends; came back to Ireland for graduation ball (went with an ex-ACSian!), acceptance to several courses so made a choice to go to UCD (http://www.ucd.ie) in Dublin

01 - first year science; got involved with international students society (ISS) of uni; travelled Paris, Reims, Milan, Venice, Xavea/Javea (near Alicante at Costa Blanca in Spain); summer job as secretary/receptionist at Crowleys DFK (http://www.crowleysdfk.ie), offered part time job after as bookkeeper/ maintaining practice accounts

02 - second year science, homing in towards pharmacology, biochemistry and physiology; president of ISS; travelled Paris, Milan, Verona; home for holiday second time since moving abroad

03 - third year major pharmacology (hons); president of ISS; travelled Paris, Milan, Rome, Florence, Genoa, Lake Maggiore, Verona, Venice (i know, i keep going back to these places but i just love them so much!)

04 - final year pharmacology, graduated 2:1 with 1:1 for final thesis - discovered new protein but lost out on the race to publication; co-president of ISS; travelled Paris, Rome, Milan, Verona, Vicenza, Padova, Munich, Vienna, Prague; PhD positions offered - took the opportunity to get into Population Genetics (http://www.gen.tcd.ie/molpopgen/) at TCD (http://www.tcd.ie) ; discovery of the joy of forumming :)

05 - still hanging on to PhD position; started to learn how to blog (http://www.ifantabulous.com); still working part time with Crowleys; taking lessons in French; will be going home for holiday in June; and hope there's more joy to come my way this year

now there you go... not highly exciting as some of yours, but i love the way things have been working out for me... ;)

my turn...

89 - finished SPM - very good results :)

90 - got a scholarship and went to victoria junior college in singapore for my a levels - dem it was a pressure cooker there... got another scholarship offer to do my a levels in kl and then 3 years tertiary education in uk - so i came back to kl - and became song's junior; and cireria and buff's college mates (and room-mates)...

92 - went to southampton - did my double e - the first 6 months was a nightmare - i didn't know how to use a computer (heck i didn't even know what files and folders were) and my lab supervisor knew me as the guy who couldn't use the oscilloscope... but i managed to survive with some extra effort...

95 - graduated with a first class and came back to malaysia to work... have always had this nagging regret that i should have stayed to do my phd... but then i may never have met dalady then... :)

96-2000 - courting dalady... i've know her for many years before but we only decided to be a couple in may 96 (i think)... and got married in 2000. we had to delay our honeymoon about 2 months as i was in the middle of a project. we paid in full to go to europe but one week before going, dalady gave me a call and told me that she was pregnant and spotting (not good). one doctor advised against travelling while another said go ahead... we didn't go... and daboy was born 9 months later...

i wasted 4 years doing my cfa - completed all exams but cannot get awarded the charter as i don't have relevant experience. got pissed off and started my mba with nottingham uni. in my 4th and final semester now.

Let me share mine before someone scold me.

Left ACS in 1987.

Took up 'A" Level, After that LL.B, After that C.L.P. finished all my studies & was wondering what should I do next.

I discover meditation in 1989. It actually cured my migrane.

Start up an organic vegetarian restaurant with some friends. Managed it full time. Work as a part time cook in the restaurant.( I think I am the only cook in Malaysia with a law degree at that time.)

Due to a lot of pressure from my parent, I decided that I have to do my chambering. It was hell. RM500 a month. Work like a dog. The moment I started chambering I ended my relationship with my ex-girlfriend a photographer.

At the end of my chambering, I have a new girlfriend (now my wife). I was call to the Malaysian Bar. Begin my life as a lawyer. My stress level was so high. Last year, I decided I need a rest from the legal profession.

I got married in 9/9/99. I decide that we should have 1/2 month honeymoon in France. That was great

Second honeymoon in Shanghai 2002.

In May, 2002, Finally, my wife was pregnant.

Bought my 1st house in 2002, December,

On Feb 14,2003 Vui Ctze was born. Sudden change of status in life.

Now working in the insurance recovery. It is a new business in M'sia

Found the forum & now a addict in the forum. Going through some rehabilitation process right now.

Dream: To retire by 45

Here's my story:
1975 - 1980 - Lived in Cheras. Can't remember much about those early days except that this guy at playschool used to bring a jar of chilli padi with him and one day he forgot it and sat in the corner the whole day crying...
1980 - 1983 - Moved to Bonn, Germany cos of dad's work as a military attache with the Malaysian Embassy. Dad was in the Navy. Went to a British school there, picked up German, spoke English like Prince Charles and had a Turkish best friend - Bora was his name.
1983 - 1985 - Lived in TLDM in Lumut at the top of the hill. First of school at TLDM didn't know a word of Malay in Standard 2. Got second last in school. Didn't even know where to put my name. The only other guy I beat had Down Syndrome. Got first in English and Maths though...
1985 - 1990 - Standard 4 to Form 3 - ACS and moved to Sri Manjung. First day of school my mom leaves in the Principals office and I sat in the corner for a few hours till Mr. Lim spotted me and asked me what my favourite colour was. I said Blue, so I went to 4B with Jeffrey Ding, Ging, Kannan, Siew Jin and Hsu Yi. In secondary school had 2 sets of best friends - Sila and Pebs for RPGs and lepak and Ray and Peter for football. Was captain of the Football team in secondary school. Somehow we won the district championship - don't ask me how, I don't know... :)
1990 - 1993 - My dad retired from the Navy and went to JB. I didn't want to go to school there cos knew now one, so struck a deal with my mom that if I got the Asean scholarship I could go to S'pore, so I did. Went to ACS Singapore. Had there the time of my life. Made a lot of great friends there. Was there beginning of the end as far as my scholastic career went. Skipped school half the time and spent heaps of time playing football, squash (Singapore Junior No.1), sailing, choir for school.
1994 - Went to Perth to finish high school and look after an uncle who dying of pancreatic cancer.
1995 - Studied Middlesex Accounting at KDU and hung out with Ray. Heaps of fun.
1996 - Went back to Perth to study accounting cos of my then girlfriend.
2000 - Got married and work as an accountant in a small suburban accounting firm.
2001 - Went to work for Macquarie Bank - largest investment bank in Australia as an Institutional Investment Sales Manager. Got so sick of being an accountant - it was boring and I was bad at it.
2002 - Separated from my wife.
2003 - Spent it travelling - Bali, Italy, Hong Kong and dating - probably dated about 11 women over the year. Learnt that dating rules had changed so much since the last time I was single. Fun but stressful.
2004 - Met my current girlfriend, Indra. We lived only about 30 minutes from each other when we kids in Germany. Didn't know each other then. Still working for Macquarie Bank.
*Here's a pic of Indra and me with some other friends and a friend's vineyard a few months ago. Indra is in the middle...

Hi Euj,

Congratulations on that one above. So, you are THAT guy. Something that I have never managed in all my footballing career in ACS. BTW, I still remember the day when you guys won it. It was awesome for us seniors - we tried and I certainly did on 2 ocassions - U15 & U18, unfortunately, without success.

Mine would read like this - Semi Finalist 1985. Losing Finalist in 1987. (the only consolation for that year? - the only "cina man" player for the District.)

p.s. Lovely long story from someone (junior). Good luck, mate.

haha...thanks james. i think part of the reason was cos we used my Azteca 1986 World Cup Adidas ball. It had a funny way of going upwards after kicking. Because our team was used to using it, we knew how to kick it, but the opposition didn't and their kicks almost always went over the bar! :D

enjoyed other peoples stories so much... for us jurassic ones, the story is longer...
1975-83 Convent, no boys in classroom, didn't know what i was missing.
84-87, ACS, boys in classroom, strange way to study, best years of my schoollife. somehow, inspite of added distraction, one of the top students, so start dreaming bout doing medicine. no idea that it involved sick people big time....
87 my big failure in life, STPM not a single A, dream of medicine down the drain. went to ipoh, thot of redoing Fm6, but opportunity to do Sains hayat at UKM cameup and at that time, after the first year, some people get to do medicine.
88 sains hayat at UKM, met future hubby in oral communications class. not that we talk alot now.... tough time studying but had a good group of friends from Chinese school, wah, they study all the time.....so managed to get into medicine
89-94 living my dream, first day in the wards, i fainted when the patient had an arm wrapped in sling started talking about how it got injured and the bones and flesh that was xposed.... i landed up in the bed opposite him.
can u imagine how i survived after that? medicine is not at all glamorous..
94, married 3 weeks after finals, (swear this is the last exam) my poor future hubby spent a lot of time with me in the library, konon dating.... graduated near the top of my class, dunno how i did that. mostly am blur about things but do well in exams, i think am a good guesser. but that wont work with patients, the guessing is paralyzing. other highlights-enjoyed squash. we hit the wall, literally.
94-96 dream became a living nightmare, worked as houseman in penang GH. on call, 24-36 hours, lack sleep, boss yelling, people dying..i almost quit, thot i should have taken up botany, that way if my plants fall sick, i can just throw them away...
96 escaped to los angeles, hubby got a job over here. 2 years honeymoon? got cranky, bored, only that much shopping u can do on a budget..started thinking bout USMLE (US medical licensing exams). more exams, took them, pretty easy, i think the american way of MCQ is the best form of exams. and thot pathology was probably the best for me, least patient contact. i thot i would be less afraid of the dead than the living....
98-2004 pathology residency at USC. great program, great teachers who actually encourage than yell...dead people started to get scary too.... but fortunately do mostly surgical pathology and cytology
2000 birth of my son, my sweetie pie, beginning of another chapter, so much more interesting than medicine, i remember his peachy skin at birth.
2003 number 2 arrived after 3 false alarms, my pumpkin/dumpling, pics of me n them in now n then thread/85page 2. too technologically challenging for me to do it myself...
2004- last exam, first real job as a pathologist, not bad, still lotsa unknowns.
i dare not dream too much anymore.....

can be possible if you can be more 'chin-chai' and not so fussy. Them kids especially once they are over two can appreciate and enjoy lots of stuff...though I must also add that if you are fit, it helps cos there's lots of carrying to do. Of course another method is to have trips in groups....that way, there are others to help you shoulder the burden :D . We have good family friends and their kids who are much older are a great help in carrying, feeding the small one.

I went to the Taiping Zoo with family friends...worked out great..as long as the other family doesn't have kids below 10, it''ll work out fine. And if they're more teenagers (those over 15), girls some more, lagi bagus. They're really dependable and everyone gets to have a good time. Outing in a group is more fun anyway. My kids grow up with 3 other kids who are almost like their bro and sisters.

*Tap..tap...microphone on ah. Spotlight pls. Sila - music pls, thanks*

Aiseh - didn't realize there was such a thread around. Well as they say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

ok my turn:

1978- but - healthy and chubby. Aunty decided to have Joy as my middle name - have no idea why but am now stuck with it. Brought back to Sitiawan Garden to live. Voon Chan used to live opposite me.

1985-1993 - Studied in Acs Primary and High School. Was never a high achiever like Sila or James Ling (anak-anak guru ACS yang pandai belaka  ) Very average student but still got reasonably alright grades. Was so chubby till I started playing tennis for Manjung district from Standard 4 onwards. Played for MSSPK in Form 3. Dad reckoned I was a "pemain tumpang" which proved that I wasn't much of a player, anyways, so he says.

end of 1993-2002 - Tearfully said goodbye to good ol' Sitiawan and moved to Kuala Lumpur. Dad self-studied to be a lawyer and found a job as a lawyer in KL. He's my idol and mentor and has done a lot for for me, my sis and mum. He worked so hard to get where he is now.

Studied in a crap Kebangsaan School. Was active in Co-curricular activites. Leader for this and that (kerja kaypoh) Eg Rangers, Volleyball, Choir. After SPM, studied Diploma of Secretarialship because I was too confused and wasn't encouraged to pursue a degree in Hotel Mgmt and Catering. I tell you this Diploma has helped me get great jobs. Did a Bsc in Electronic Commerce in APIIT.

2003 - present - Studied Masters of Information Systems in Brisbane.Met Caleb and fell in love. We were friends in KL before this. He's been here longer then I and is currently a Software Engineer. Got my PR and started working immediately after I graduated. Now nak cari kerja baru because I'm getting bored. Have stopped learning new things/acquiring new skills. So time to move on. Life here is ok. Am very homesick and think about family a lot. :crying: But thinking on the positive side. Experience and better money.

Eh - you guys still awake ah?!!!!!

Hey.. Wait a minute.. I am sure I donno Janice but her background story sure sounds like she is THE sister to a kid that I used to play with on my SPM year.

[VC, I'm you knew that boy that spend a lot of time in your house - I think it's Collins or something like that.]

The reason I remember is because I bought a lot of Mamie, Twisties and Cheezels (from my meagre pocket money at that time!) for that cute boyz. Hopefully, that junk food hasn't done any damage to him [he..he..] but then again, I only knew the side effects of junk food several years later.

hey dt! lama tak nampak! how about you share your canvas with us too? :)My canvass will pale in comparison for the simple reason that i'm still one of the "babies" in this forum, class being almost at the bottom in the Classes Index. My life journey has just begun, so dun expect too much colours ni it..

1998
- SPM.
Early 1999
- Had a motorbike accident on my way back from music class but not hurt, only shocked, but scared everybody by losing my memory for a night. Paiseh nia :o
1999
-SPM result good. Everybody happy.
1999~2000
- Blur-blur Form 6. Nighmare more like it. Still getting cold feet just to try recollect it.
-STPM
2001
- Become Guru Sandaran for 1 month in ACS becoz nothing else to do.
- STPM result was announced while was in S'pore as a "ball-boy" for an ATP tennis tourney. Disastrous result. Parents extremely upset and dissapointed. Sent for me straight although tourney baru masuk main-draw. (At least i got Todd Woodbridge's signature, but too bad missed the opprtunity to carry his towel). Came home, parents already marked for me the choices in my UPU form. I have no say, and no use bantah.
- Got offer from UM, B.Sc. with Edu. (3rd choice) Started life in UM. was blur and dunno wat was i doing. Became Lone-ranger, not mixing around nor making friends. Dunno any seniors in my faculty, Science fac. Only knew 2 ex-ACSians, but they so far away in Dental Fac. Hated my lecturers becoz i never wanted to be a teacher. then, met 2 seniors from law fac. They were from Ai Zhong n Nan Hwa, and were in ACS only for F6, so dun really know them well b4. Took good care of me and introduced me to other S'wanis, all from Nan Hwa. this group helped me settle down (what happened to ACS kaki-lang... so sad.. have to have NH ppl come baby-sit...).
2001~2005
- Funny development took place... I buried myself in my bio books n studied very hard, paying little attention to my education courses... but somehow, edu results outshone bio results. I guess "education" stuff is in me all along although i tried furiously to deny it. Many ppl that i came across reaffirm my suspicion.. they'll always tell me that i 'm a "good teacher" becoz i can explain difficult things in easy way. (Artemis also one of those.. Thanks Art! those words meant a lot to me! *Muaks*).
- Began to be more confident of my path and mula melangkah dgn lebih berani. Once the cloud of confusion in cleared, the overall results also became shinier.
- Got involved in Uni student activity, e.g. VCF & UM Symphony orchestra. Travelled all over M'sia with the orchestra. Became the 1st ever Principal Oboeist of Malaysian Universities Symphony Orchestra, in Sabah, a combined effort of all local Uni.
Concluding remarks
- I was an idealist but i'm glad that now I'm not!
- Do i regret my uni life? NO!
- I came to uni without the slightest "sliver" of a heart-to-teach, now really excited to go back to school. This coming Monday, i'll be attached to Catholic High School PJ, for 3 months of Teaching Practical Training. Am really looking forward to it. Maybe i'll share my experiences as a trainee teacher in this forum, maybe on a weeklt basis.

Sunday 13 March. Well, supposed 2b leaving 4 Johore at 11am. Already 2pm and am still at home. Noor decided to clean up home before leaving. Sez don’t wanna come back to a topsy turvy house AND have two plastic bags worth of laundry to do. Still remember Penang trip two weeks ago. En Alias asked where on PLUS highway we were already at, I told him have reached Rawang. Took him a bit to realize that means I was still at home. ‘Tengkorak engkau!’ he screamed when it registered what I‘d meant. A very happy fellow Alias, despite fact he has to juggle between two binis (lucky man). Actually previous auditor whose place I now occupy aso ‘pasang lagi satu’, a fact Noor was NOT happy to know (think I mite get funny idea). Alias’ handling Accounts Audit together with CT, she just joined scarcely a month b4 me. IT audit again for yours truly, what they pay me for. We a trio of auditors when one is already enuff to have auditees shit in their pants. Cant imagine trauma 3 would cause them. Head Group Internal Audit wants a ‘general opinion’ on the state of IT of subsidiary company. Iman very happy we staying in a hotel, that means ‘can go swimming in pool with Ayah’. We finally got going by 3pm. For someone who rarely sleeps b4 11pm, she starts dozing as soon as car start moving. Arwin immediately started having conversation with Noor, though nobody understands wat she saying, gotten really talkative this past few months, & getting cuter by the day. She looks very much like cousin Izzati at her age, cute and now a beautiful young lady. Man am I going to be one worried father when Arwin becomes a teenager :worried: sure banyak buaya. Uneventful drive, stopped at RnR twice coz sleepy, needed catnap. Arrived hotel close to 7:30 pm. Nice room with sea view (well not really, Singapore blocking lah) Looks like Noor will have a gala time since duty free shopping is just next door to hotel. Iman immediately wanted to check out swimming pool and I checked out the Spa. Iman’s eyes immediately lit up at size of the pool. Well, need to unpack, freshen up and hit the sack, first day of Johore audit tomorrow……meeting Alias for very early breakfast coz still need to find auditees place somewhere Pasir Gudang. <2b continued>

Monday 14th March - Breakfast with Alias at 7am!sheesh. Hotel had a good spread of breakfast buffet though. We finished up and went to the car park to wait for CT. Taking Alias' car for the audit like in Penang. Could have driven mine but I think Alias would like the mileage money. Also, the 'ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT' on my C5 didnt exactly gave me an impetus to start driving in unfamiliar territory. So, we took the Civic, and I braced myself for the backaches, coz Alias' car's suspension was already totally shot to Hades! I could feel every single stone and every single bump on the road...only this time its worse. We got lost! Took us 1.5 hours to find Jalan Keluli 9 in Pasir Gudang. I need to see a chiropractor by the time this audit is done. Alias is not complaining though, his mileage just to get from hotel to Pasir Gudang is > 100Km juz coz we got lost!Bugger was smiling all the way. Finally start the audit, and man Johore was HOT, and the container yard was really dusty. Managed to get some potential findings though they are pretty similar to Penang's. Went back to hotel, and first thing I get is Iman asking 'Ayah JOM pegi swim!' Told her I need half hour to rest up, that would have been enuff had it not been for the fact that she wakes me up every 5 minutes to ask if the half hour is up yet! Sooo, went to the pool with a sore body, but Iman had fun so that went okay. I always make it a point to pay more attention to her now that Noor's time is mostly preoccupied with Arwin. In a way I am closest to Iman thought I never love Arwin any less. I'd always visited Iman at the babysitter's when Noor was still working ie I watched her grow up more than Noor did though Noor now watches Arwin growing up more than me. Finished up the swimming, then told Noor I needed to go to the Spa and get a massage. My body was tired, I could feel it. She said make sure they give me an old lady to do a massage. :amused: Went to the Spa, massage would cost me RM88, what the heck just pay for it. So make my way with the usherer to my designated massage room. On the way the usherer proposed if I wanted a 'special' massage ie with 'pretty girl' for RM230....in Cantonese initially! I dont get that ethnic mixup from people much nowadays, kulit dah makin gelap and all that but the eyes still confuse people I think. Have my chinese grandmother (the only grandparent I have still living, I miss the rest of them terribly) to thank for that. Told the usherer I'm Malay and he repeated the proposition. Told him 'saya mahu normal massage'. He was dissapointed I could tell, no commision from this schmuck, he must be thinking. Anyway, while the massage was going on, heard some 'funny' noises coming from the adjoining rooms....must be the 'specials' at work. Heck I was too exhausted too care. Well, the massage done, headed for room, the kids was already asleep. Iman I know was already pretty tired from the swim (Arwin must be tired from all the talking and singing in her own baby language. She likes dancing, a fact Noor worries, 'tu laa Arwin tuu memang cucu Jamzari (my dad) always prone to the 'enjoy' part of life! macam bapak dia jugak) but Noor was awake....so I had MY 'special' with her  my beloved wife. The massage from the 'old lady' must have been just what I needed (and the mirrors in shower  ) <to be concluded>

Tuesday 15th March - final IT audit day. This should be easier than yesterday (assuming I dont have to pickup my bones from Alias' car floor with all the bump and grind....gee that sounds like R. Kelly's song). Just need to ask some progress status from the auditee company's logistical arm located upstairs in the same building. Biddy BIng, Biddy Boom, its done and it aint even time for lunch yet. Schucks, better look like I'm doing something while Alias and CT do the own audit else they gonna think Im here to holiday ;) . Okay thot of something, asked the IT guyz some supplementary questions based on yesterday's findings at Jalan Suasa container yard. Evening came soon enuff, and Iman was already waiting for me to take her swimming. After yesterday's failed attempt to get some rest after work, I decided to just take her to the pool and get it over and done with, but this time Noor and Arwin joined us. Noor just bought a pseudo-scuba getup to bring into the pool (it was the beginning of more purchases will explain later) , and Arwin was wearing Iman's old swimsuit. Got to the pool, and took arwin to the kids pool (it was REALLY shallow). Me, a 81Kg guy in a toddler pool? I look like a beached whale. Really weird sight, people. We all moved to the adult pool soon enuff. Swim done, whole family went to the duty free, Noor soon enuff found a kids clothing store, selling some branded goods at duty free prices. I wanted to go to the upper floors and see if the 9500 Communicator can be bought at cheaper price here. So gave her RM200 enuff to buy whatever she thought she wanted to buy for the kids. There was a clanging sound a bit later in the duty free complex. Turns out it was only the sound of my jaw dropping when I found out the total purchase for the kids clothes were closer to RM500. Luckily I found out not too long after picking up my jaw that it was for EIGHT pairs of clothings. I could JUST get three pairs of OshKosh B'Gosh-es with RM500 in 1 Utama. So I THINK it was a good buy....no NOKIA 9500 for sale, just accessories, !@#$%^. Had dinner, went to bed (yeah, RIGHTTTT  )

Wednesday 16th March: Going home!! Check out of hotel, another uneventful drive back to Rawang. But first have to make small detour to 1 Utama. Made sure I brought my USB thumbdrive to have Kev at Ultimate Toys download the latest Star Wars trailer for me....ratsnuts!! his PC dont wanna recognize my thumbdrive. just great, first it was TMNet outside Klang Valley, now its my thumbdrive, itsa conspiracy I tell you! well, some good news from Kev before I resigned myself to having to download the trailer from the office on Friday (Thursday on leave, taking car to Citroen service centre to have em take a look at that 'ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT' message, AGAIN). Turns out my Master Replica lightsabres pre-orders will finally come tomorrow! Allright, Thank goodness for small mercies. Finally headed home. Unpacked. Checked out the ACS forum. Hmm, more canvasses posted, including from Salam (wow didnt know he was married), a PM from VC asking if I already back in KL, (hee hee he must have caught me cellphone surfing earlier today)....oh well, will just do some light forumming, just a little bit...yeah right, just a little bit...

THE END. (.....but Life, goes on........)

You know, that is a good idea. Anyone who whats to blog for the benefit of the people here, can actually open their own thread in their own year forum and just report whatever they want in their life. Comments by others are limited to things blogged by the thread starter only, no going too far off topic.

Any refinements to this idea?

yeah, wellll..I just couldnt understand or appreciate kids clothing prices. but wife thot it was really really good bargain, so i just trust the 'expert's opinion...and said a sad farewell to the money. :crying:

Funny how I can hv no problem forking out a stupid amount for BBT (Big Boys Toyz) but think twice at buying the kids clothes .... <sigh> I really need to set my priorities straight.

Actually it's not worth spending on designer clothes for kids unless you have another bundle to pass down. Or else, have to donate for charity after they grow up. Since i have 2 girls, don't really mind a little expensive clothes. But buying for my son (hehe) have to think twice. Anyway, boys' clothing is always more expensive than girls. :(

Cepat laa cerita, nak tau masa u kat ovesi apa buat ..... dah.

Ok I ni nak 'Pigi Dah!'.

Sori la bro. Took a bit of time to recollect my memories, so ini cerita saya....

7.15 PM 24.4.1970: came into the world [knew nothing about that]. was told that I was the heaviest kid in the Sitiawan Maternity 'spital. Joy to my parents as they've lost my brother a couple of years earlier. Sad.

1970-1974. Usual stuff. I between I almost went back to meet my maker after swallowing the ball bearing which my dad kept in his tool box.

1975. Finally I have learn how to cycle on an adult bike without accumulating anymore of those bruises only 12 months earlier (or should I say after having accumulated all those bruises...). Still can't sit on the bike, though (too high).

1976. I remember this year not for the 'kinder' but rather the wonderful 7 weeks holidays after the end of the 'garten'. Guli, lastik, kite, wooden gun, you name it.. Fantastic - Two Thumbs Up!

1977. - SRJK ACS. Std 1 Merah. Class near the old Canteen. Met boyz like Song CM, the 2 Leslie's, one Daniel something..

1977 - 1982. In my opinion, that's what EDUCATION is supposed to be. Morning - PE. In between, Recess [makan]. Evening - Games at neighborhood. [Did anyone mentioned homework?] Results - pretty good.

Favourite TV show: Donny & Marie, 6 Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Space 1999 (ha..ha..daft title, lookin back, if you ask me.), Little House on the Prairie (dreaming that one day I would be in North America..).

My 2 favourite teachers in the entire primary. Mr. Ching Eu Pang (notice that I still spelt his name correctly after all these years) and Mrs. Cheok.

The teacher that I sympathized the most is the late Puan Gong (students called her Punggong). Stories about her sad personal life still stuck in my mind till this day. Tragic.

1983. Form 1B1. That's right. ALL BOYZ class. Several kids now imported from St. Francis. Guys like HVC, Jeya, Ambrose, Cliff Richards, Hor Yi She (later became How is She?) started to show up. VC became my bud. This class is a class above every other class.

[Now, VC I have to ask your opinion.] How did all those shy boys turn into every teacher's nightmare (monster)? We were having a good time playing pranks and "hentaming" every single teacher with jokes and sarcastic remarks. I think a combination of Messrs. David Letterman, Jerry Springer, Jay Leno et. al. would have lost to us pants down!

Mar'1983 - Party's over. Promoted (or so called upgraded) into 1A1. Did not belong there - body in that class but heart and soul still in the B1 class. This class is full of studious "return of the" nerds (quite common those days due to parental constant thumbs up and buttering). My only point of sticking around is being one of the best, if not the best – (sorry King Kenny) footie player there.

1984 - 1987.

Football: Slowly but surely devoted more time and energy as well as due financial investments. Results show. Got into U15 and U18 team. U15 did well but lost in Semis due to a dubious referee. [serious] HSK retired and some other boyz given up. :sad-2: I tried again for U18. Heartbreak this time as we lost in the FINAL. Looking back, it was a fantastic team of players and probably one of the best that ACS had.

Whatever it is - Time's up. It up to my junior now to bring the champs home to ACS.

Studies: Generally an underperformer. Getting from Good to Bad and then, worse. [Luckily, I've managed to put a brake b4 it's too late]

Growing Up pains: Discovering of what the word "Teenager" means to ME. Having some inkling now about BGR esp. with those "imported" cute girls now arriving from Convent. [Have to cut short this part.]

1988: SPM Results. I still remembered who the top scorer was - it's SCM. Time to say g'bye. Everybody seems to go separate ways.

1989: Got an offer from a college in Ontario, Canada using my badly mauled SPM results. Thinking of leaving (without hesitation); only when I got into Subang Int. Airport, did I realize that I will be far & away and for very long! It’s way… too late.

1990: Got into The Univ. of Western Ontario (UWO) instead using my STPM results. Cultural shock BIG TIME. Homesick. The weather is killing me; only I didn't and couldn't die. Perhaps, THE only consolation - literally thousands of pretty babes! The best are found in the University College (UC) classrooms where these blondes, read haired and brunettes studied German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, etc. (languages). I guess that's what they're pretty good at besides one or two other things. [ha.ha.]

I guess you could really now said that “it is a wonderful world..”. Heaven on earth.

For all the partying, my academic results were pretty good. [something must be deeply wrong with our Malaysian education system.]

1992: Shock of my life. Full Int. Std. Scholarships. Sole award (only). Winner: ME. [Hey, not bad for the supposedly academically challenged kid i.e.underperformer.]

1993: Graduated with Honors. Managed to squeeze a 4 Yr Degree into 3, too. The same year UWO voted by Toronto's Globe & Mail as the prettiest campus with the best looking students [Honest!]. quote "one would come across this campus like a scene from Beverly Hills 90210.." [anyone, remember the series?]

I guess I must have played my part as a contributing factor [perasan habis!]

late '93: Home sick and wanna go home. Got a ticket to Singapore instead of KL Subang. Changi Airport is supposed to be more relaxed with security or if you happened to "accidentally" stuff into your bags a couple of Playmate magazines..

Pt 2. to be continued..... [Tell me, Naz, if you are still awake.. :p ]

Alright Bros. Stop guessin'. I’m back with the Part II of the my Trilogy (perasan)….

Thanks for the “interesting” comment from all of you for my Pt I. Some I thought I have forgotten; so thanks for being there….

Late 1993: pack my bags and go home. Leaving all those cute blondes behind. (Anybody wondered why I kept mentioning the blondes?)

[N.B: Firstly, blondes are supposed to be more fun. I supposed I was strongly influenced by Rock Hudson’s movie in the 1960’s “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. (so there you go) and had I been the hero in that movie, it would’ve be named “Chinaman Prefer Blondes” Secondly, the ones that I had some great time with were ALWAYS drop dead gorgeous. Unfortunately, one of them (while teaching) in Taiwan was killed in a car accident, a couple of years after our graduation (summer of ’93). Was terribly sad afterwards (for many months) and the only memory that I have of her today is her cute photo with err…me.]

Nov’93: My eldest sister wedding. Weather was beautiful. Wondered how mine would be like, if I’d be married at all.

April ’94: Begins my working life as an “adult”. Got a first job as an Officer - Corporate Banking. Another chapter of my life has begun.

[Life as a silly Officer from the Head Office was pretty good. You get the respect. People from the local branches shivers like hell when you speak to them or DEMAND them for something to get done. Again, there are always new project in hand to be financed, top corporate & political figures (sorry, can’t mentioned names here but I believed that my official secret acts contract ends next year) to meet up with and finally the site visit to all corners the earth.]

Nov’94: My company had engaged a local software house to deal with its burgeoning stock market financing. This software sent 2 cute ladies to the corporate office and guess (where else!) were they stationed but on the 17th Floor where the hero of the story was.

All my colleagues go goo-goo and gaa-gaa over 1 of the 2 chics (later they found out that she's married). I correctly “tackle” the unmarried/single one. Suddenly, I felt there is a butterfly in my tummy, throat, head, feet and …. everywhere else imaginable.

Still, this gal won’t talk to me. so, my ego went down from Himalaya into the pits of the Atlantic Ocean.

April’95. Got a car. Now, I’m finally movin’ and rovin’ in a double quick time, too. One day, I was looking through my diary and this number fell out. It was that same “snobbish” chic that sort of pissed me off in the first place. “So, definitely not my fault..” – (what a Great attitude that I have to begin a relationships…)

BUT I guess No Harm calling her again – “Hero/Romeo don’t die”.

So the conversation goes like this: -

He Said: Hello, may I speak to (so and so)? [meaning: I knew that was YOU and your sister couldn’t be home at the moment as her office is in KL (you are in PJ) but I ask lah for the sake of asking… polite mah..]

She Said: I’m so and so [meaning: You knew that was me, didn’t you?]

He Said: So, you are so and so [meaning: I’m ready to ask you out – just making sure it wasn’t your sister or neighbour.. salah tackle kalu…(read: EXCUSE)]

She Said: Yeah [meaning: stupid question. Where do you earn your lousy degree from, hah?]

Cut the long story short, the salesman started the sales pitch and the housewife just wasn’t interested in the ware he was offering (dem paiseh, man..) until…….

He Said: What was the music in the background?

She said: It was the latest so-and-so Gospel song… [not that something you’d know of..]

He Said: My “MYF” used to sing this lovely song.

She Said: You are a Christian meh? I thought errr.. you’re errmm.. err..

Errr…Errmm …or …. Whatever…. Jesus Saves… (both me and the day) so, Hallelujah… Bro.

We agreed on a date at Ruby Cinema (now burnt down to the ground…); Second date.. Church (now the building is sold and converted into factory), third date in another Cinema (now closed down and became a makan place)..

Burnt down, Sold, Closed Down… you would think these signs ain’t good at all in any relationships but in May’99 (exactly 5 years later), we got hitched.

1996 to mid 1997 – Still in banking. Beginning to get tired of the routine, entertainments given by your clients; the Karaoke Lounge & (the GROs – just kiddin’) and most of all traveling via air and land most of the time. Begin to feel like kuli and no longer Bond, James Bond. There are just too many site visits – West & East (but the best was Monaco).

Economy: Without us knowing, the storm (economic catastrophe) is brewing behind our back. Most captains were still having a field day. Talking nonsense and talking too BIG (if you remember, the Business Section in any major newspaper). What is coming will be a humbling experience to all concerned IF they survived at all. Most didn’t. Including my bank. Overnight, we are in the RED.

1998: Left banking. Join Property Development and Investment Firm in East Malaysia. One the toughest assignment given. I grew so old after that year.

Mar’99: Decided to come back to the West. Had set the big day. Mas Nikah is ready.. [Yeah Babe..]

May 27th, 99 early in the morning: with a bud. drinking beer. ManUtd trailing by a goal in the European Cup Final. Dem depressed. Will be married and now my team looks like losing. Within seconds literally into injury time, ManUtd snatch the unlikely victory from the jaws of defeat. Elated like kena Candu….

May 29, 99: My wedding day. This is the end of my bachelor days. Weather was beautiful. Great to see some friends coming for the church ceremony and the dinner. [Mind you, Song CM and several others has managed to get hitched several years earlier. Oh well, some boyz have all the luck… ]

Fast Forward…

1999 – Mid 2004: Work and work. The only consolation is being promoted both at work place and at home. Rebecca was born on 101101 and Rachel 230403.

Other Report:

Sports: Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah

Social Life: Good

Work: Excellent

Late 2004: Song CM asks to check the Forum. Try to get in but without success. The architect who builds this is brilliant, so this tenant must be very blur (due to those Canadian blondie influence).

Early 2005: Managed to get in and CAN Registered my name some more….

Now: Waiting to write my Pt. III. Hope that you guys will still be there to read and share yours too (for my reading pleasure la….)

I guess, this line from PRIMADONNA from the Phantom of the Opera is appropriate for all of you in this Forum….. “can you bow out when they’re shouting your name…... sing, Primadona once more…”

So, Bro. don’t bow out. Your turn next.

I discover meditation in 1989. It actually cured my migrane.

Start up an organic vegetarian restaurant with some friends. Managed it full time. Work as a part time cook in the restaurant.( I think I am the only cook in Malaysia with a law degree at that time.)

WOW's daWord...

VC, so..meditation realy has its benefits :smile-2:
was wondering if Dr Lurve @ Devil's Advocate can adopt another role & become Meditation Guru too...like share tips, etc. can ah?

i learnt that big dreams can turn into nightmares.....
so i hav little, little ones and pray hard....

:) "Do not dismiss ur dreams...to be without dream is to be without hope; to be without hope is to be without purpose" - now, that aint good, nope?

Dare to dream...and give it ur best shot. Just learn to be not too 'attached' to da dreamzzz...

D-Ting> wow! am happy for u, girl...that u managed to find that the 'teaching-streak' was in u all the while ;)
if u dont get to do what you love, LOVE WHAT U DO! u truly life up to that...cheers! am proud of u

Naza,

Obviously you and a couple of other guys (like Monay) "misread" my conclusion at the end of my Part II (i.e. updated info to current days). Maybe it is due to my literary skills or the lack of it..

What I meant was I am currently composing the Part III. It will be some years into the future before this "masterpiece" :D will be completed. The main characters could include you, VC et. al.

Ciao'
