9th September 1981
~ Came into this world.. Very proud of mum, gave me one of the best birthdate one could ever have.
~ Unfortunately, grandma died from diabetes on the day I was born. She strived on for my delivery before leaving the world. She was bed-ridden for 7 years..
~ Family was very poor, grandma had 8 children.

1981-1987
~ Lived in the old shop in Kg Koh beside the old market. All my sweet childhood memories were there. Family used to sell lanterns, flowers, fruits... etc. Best time was during CNY where we get to play fireworks with all the kids from the neighbourhood.
~ First major accident: Bro and I played at the lorong behind the shop. Little did we know there was a dog around, a big, huge, scary dog. First bark left us running towards our bicycle (bro was fetching me). Jump onto the bike and started peddling. Bro panicked and just peddled and peddled. I was supposed to hold steadfast onto him but too weak, fell off the bike. Quickly grabbed onto the back seat (just imagine the inersia), and my whole face was facing downwards on the untarred road. Cried out stop!! but bro couldnt hear, cuz the dog was chasing after us. Until we reached home (that was about 60m) my whole face was truly bloody with all the scrathes from the road. Gross! Fortunately, no scars and my face was healed!

1987
~ mum and dad bought a house in Tmn Bunga Raya. Moved to new house. Sis came along. Enrolled in ACS primary.
~ First award achieved, was first in colouring contest. It was a whole sitiawan contest but top three, all came from ACS sitiawan. Ironically, all the top 3 too, came from the SAME class!!

1987 through to 1993
~ Nothing much happened. Except for the passing away of my grandpa who loved me the most. Still miss him until now.
~ Family also bought a house in Tmn Hijau (opposite flats), and my WHOLE family stayed there, until when after F5, my immediate family moved out).
~ also, counted that I liked 1 boy, but 3 boys liked me.. hehe..

1994-1998
~ Secondary days. Am always unlucky in education.
~ Jack of all trades, master of none.
~ PMR got 5 As and came home crying profusely. Cuz I knew I won't get into 5Sc2 to be with my other friends.
~ Boys.. hehe.. always very interesting.. got the first rose from Andrew Lee but not funkmeister!!! hehe...
~ Counted: Liked 2 guys (one from Form 1-3,the other in F4) but 10 liked me... (hehe, all infactuation.. )

1998
~ Did SPM lor... didn't get good results also laa.. half of what DT got. All As in subjects with numbers, but no As in science subject. Today ended up being a scientist?? Bizarre...!! hehe... also cried profusely, but what the heck..
~ Knew I will go for F6 as my bro did F6 too. Bro also ended up in UM doing sports science.

1999-2000
~ Did STPM lor. Met lots of nice ppl from other schools. Lots of good memories as well.
~ Got good result.. was darn happy..... (mind you, my result is the same as DT)
~ Applied fo local unis
~ Almost ended up with a guy (not from our school laa) but dad was treatening to "break off my leg" if I were to go out with him ever again cuz he thought I was still too young. But I knew I won't end up with him, cuz in the process of courting he went out with another girl. So that says it all. Becuz of this guy, the whole church thought I was very sought after. It was quite a big thing... :huh:

2001
~ Got into UM science, my first choice. Didn't know what I want to do, but as long as I get into the country's most prestigious uni (as per my family), I'm happy.
~ Darn easy, got into Dean's list in 5 out of 6 semesters. (but pls remember, if ppl like me also can get into Dean's List, just imagine the standard in UM, seriously).
~ Desperate to get a bf, cuz cant stand loneliness. At the same time, isolated myself. Even DT who's in UM also almost knew my non-existence.

2002
~ One day this guy asked for my email and tel num. (that was my first time I saw him, cuz never noticed him at all). Seen him for only 3 times in uni, he then emailed me asking me to give him a chance. Dem! that freaked me out!! Was telling me, how I suit his criteria in life... GOSH.. eerie man.. Replied and said sorry!
~ Worked casually in Sweat Club. Met lots of malaysian stars, gays..dem stuck up I tell you.
~ Met a hunky guy, handsome... also my bro's friend. Unfortunately he is a MALAY. He was a soul mate. Great and kind. Any malay girls around, I will def intro him.
~ Yet, still not bf.

2003
End of Jan~ During CNY, got a call from best friend (YL) asking me to go out to meet some friends. Told me that Andrew Lee (funkmeister) was asking for me, as in how I was. Got quite surprised and excited in meeting him. So we went out, but I have to pick funkmeister up. When he got into the car, the first sentence was: "Wow! you still look pretty!!" Dem, that was really flattering and I was smitten.. haha.. but even before we went out that day, I knew he would be THE ONE! Reason very simple: He's still available (no gf until then), finished his masters, rich... hehe.. JK.. most importantly, I had a deep sense of peace knowing that God has sent the one to me.
So, our first date was at the old supper shop near the old market, where we had "loh mai kai" (nasi pulut, i think). Very memorable, as I've never brought any friends there.. its solely an outlet just for my family.
~2nd date was in KL, Secret Recipe. We even almost shared a piece of cake! But he still didn't have any feelings for me. He was still checking me out, still treating me as his "sister" like before.
~ 14th February 2003, Wanted to date him out...gave him a call, but he REJECTED me. Giving me excuses that he had to have lunch at home, wanted to stay at home.. blah blah blah.. FINE!..
~ I took it easy as well. Cuz I knew he would be the one. Told me that the fastest he will ever go steady with a girl is after 2 years of knowing her. But.. jeng jeng jeng.. (btw, I've known funkmeister a looong time since Std 6 due to church activities).
~ So, we went out as normal.. more and more dates.. until the day came.

~ 18 April 2003, he asked me to become his gf!! (partly also, i must thank my aunts who really interrogated him, as he was leaving Msia in May to come back to Syd and look for a job). So I guess, he didn't want to miss out and leave things.
~ So, I agreed! but soon after, he had to leave me (in May 2003), and we were apart for 9 months. Glad that times flies as I was superbly busy with my dissertation.

2004
~ Applied for masters in Sydney Uni and was accepted even before I got my final result. (nothing to be proud of, most unis welcome overseas student, cuz they can earn lots of money from us maa)..
~ So, last day of my exam, I flew to SYdney at the night itself for the masters orientation programme.
~ Was overjoyed to be in funkmeister's arms again.. hehe :o
~ but after a couple of months, started getting depressed as I miss my family soo much.
~ went home to Msia for graduation!!!
~ The came back to Syd. Looked for temporary jobs to support myself, as I cannot depend on funkmeister. His parents will think otherwise of me.
~ Got a job as deli assistant. Worked like hell. But I persevered.

2005
~January 31st. Funkmeister and I got engaged during CNY in Msia.
~Came back to Sydney. Worked and studied as normal.
~ Got an offer to do my research with a good pathological company. Was offered to work for them as a scientific officer. Quit my job at Deli. hehe.. great joy!
~NOW: still working on my research.

Very long and interesting thread indeed. Was fun reading through. As promised Voon Chan a couple of days ago, here's mine (night time more quiet, can recall better).

1992 - Finished Form 5, results so-so only, decided to take the ultimate challenge, faced Form 6.

1994 - Finished Form 6, results not as good, but enough for me to enter a local university (University of Malaya).

1995 (25 June - 1 July) - Orientation week in UM, was like hell. Slept about 2 hours a day for 7 days. Woke up late one day, was punished by senior, ran round the basketball court and repeated 'saya akan bangun awak esok'. (I think I said about 500 times). :mad:

1998 March - Graduated from UM, with Bachelor of Science (Physics) degree.

1998 March-August - Penganggur kehormat, survived by giving tuition to lower secondary kids and also Form 5 kids

1998 August - Joined ABB Industrial and Building Systems Sdn Bhd, as Sales Engineer

2005 July - Still with ABB (now ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd), now Sales Manager

i do completely agree. even though i am a field consultant so i get sent out to clients and don't even have to go into my own company office, the company culture is very strong. so used to it already and the commitments do make it difficult to leave. in fact having the same with my current clients now - been working with them 3 years now!!!

but since the nature of my work is that i must travel, eventually i must give up this job if we want to start a family. so in that way i know i have an end date somewhere.. :D

The Taman Pegawai kids Sila, myself, Puan Normah's kids, Mrs. Ding's kids, all played in that rubber plantation. Buat bicycle stunts and wargames some more. Those were the good old days. All I have to do to find a rubber seed is to go across the street in front of my house to the longkang there.
