One day the telephone rang. My dad answered the call.

My Dad: Hello!

James : Hello Datuk Ho! Apa khabar?

My Dad: Tan Sri! Khabar Baik! Datuk Apa Khabar?

James : Khabar Baik, and continue talking about a movie (Sahara, If I am right).

After a while my dad asked James

My Dad : Awak mahu cari siapa?

Everyone burst out in to laughter! It was really funny

story ah? i actually i have one...dem paiseh...

when i was about 5yrs old..i was still on the bottle...so my parents, they decided that it is time that i drink like a normal person....i was in seberang jaya at that time, the back yard of my house was one large rubber estate...(now it's a blardy highway, dem! )..anyway, they pretended to throw my beloved bottle away....i kept crying but did not dare to open the back gate to pick up my bottle....that evening, my aunt came to visit..so i begged her to bring me go find my bottle..hehe..she did...but we din find it of course coz my parents din throw it....so i gave up lor...about 1 month later...i open the freezer to get ice...hehe..i was short that time, so mah need to use chair...lo and behold...my beloved bottle there..hehe...but after 1 month of not using it...i 'm used to not having the bottle...:D

wah between 83 and 87 ah?????? where was i... think i am still in swan... i left and 87 is my last yr in ACS Swan in Pri3B... i wasnt staying with my parents then cos they were venturing into their business out of the state. so i was taken care by my aunt...

y i left after pri3? well was a story to tell... was having a class cancelled during school hours... i was playing in class with ither mates and situation get out of hand... i pushed a classmate (i forgot who) to a glass cabinet door which we use to put books and all kind of stuffs in clas during that time...

i freak out cos the glass broke and thank god he was ok.... what next? Headmaster's office and guardian came... news tavel to my dad and i am of swan till now.....

In 1986, one day one of my class mate Kh was reading the Dear Telma section of the newspaper. Our beloved English teacher just came in to our class. "Good Morning Teacher". We sat down.

Kh told our teacher "I got a story for everyone, teacher". He started to read the story. It is about a girl who went camping with a girl. I can remember this part clearly "We went to sleep. In the middle of the night he took off my clothes & he entered me. As I was a virgin it hurt. Later we try again & I enjoyed it".

The teacher said "Enough". Kh asked "What is a virgin teacher?". Teacher answer was "untouch". Kh reaction was :huh: , please explain more. Teacher "go and look in to the dictionary & it is part of growing up ".

Everyone was laughing like crazy in the class :D

Okay. There was this one time when we had a Biology test in 5ScA1. One of the subjective questions was the reproductive process of worms, or rather more specifically what was the method used by worms to reproduce. I had answered 'asexual' correctly...

The week after, we got our graded papers back. The Bio teacher called us up front one by one by name to pickup the marked papers. Everything was honky-dory fine,....until Mairuzsazali's name was called up to pick up his graded test paper. While he was making his way up front I couldnt help noticing a big grin on teacher's face, it looked like she was trying very very hard to suppress a laugh. Made me very curious to say the least.

I asked Mairuz 'Apasal cikgu senyum senyum kat engkau tadi?', Mairuz said 'Entah, aku pun tak tau'. I asked to see his test paper. He passed it to me and I went thru it until I came to the worm reproduction section.

It turns out that while most everyone had written 'asexual' as the answer, this dear dear friend of mine wrote 'BISEKSUAL' :o


I had images of lesbian and gay worms bonking each other silly running around in my head for the whole month after that.......then had stomach ache coz was controlling my laughter everytime I see Mairuz' face in Biology class...

Le'mme share one of the many tales from school pulak...

during one matematik moden class in Form 2, the teacher at that time (mr. cheng weng lim) likes to use examples such as 5 ekor lembu, 3 ekor kambing, etc. etc.

One day he uses the example of "lebih lembu, kurang rumput" (i.e. "more people less share" lah in another words...)

somehow, an argument started and instead of the original matematik class, suddenly it turn into a BM class.

that was when the teacher mentioned about a mathematical concept where one method/concept is used in the other method/concept (I think it's algebra in geometry, or somethin' like that) to get the answer.

He had used the peribahasa "lembu punya susu, sapi dapat nama", I think, just to make the class interesting lah.

At that juncture, some smart buddy of ours who always made comment in class said "mana bole cikgu!"

the teacher was clearly taken aback, answered, why not.

the answer came - "kalau itu lembu - lembu jantan, macam mana ada sussu???!!"

All I can remember after that was that hell broke loose in that whole class and everyone was up in stitches....

In 1987, my BM teacher was Puan Hasini, Sila's Mom. Every afternoon little Sila will come along with a violin. One of my class mate KL will say this to Puan Hasini "Cikgu! Anak cikgu cantiklah, saya jadi menantu boleh tak?".

Puan Hasini standard reply was "Pegilah! Kau orang ini belajar tak boleh. Nak anak saya? SPM 7-8A, barulah cakap". Kl will make a lot of noise and Puan Hasini will shout "KL, awak ini kurang ajarlah". Kl will reply, "cikgu, jangan cakap macam ini. tak baik tahu. Cikgu sudah banyak ajar, saya sudah banyak belajar".

The next thing you know is that Puan Hasini will pull KL's hair. "Cakap lagilah!" she will exclaim.

I am not sure if u can remember Azlin, Azizah and the other malay girl. They always together. Azizah working with BCB in Lumut and i will try to contact her.....she's married, saya takut nak contact dia.....takut the husband tak sporting!!!. Azlin....i met her onboard when she travelling on my flight and she gave me her contact but when i call her....always message....how la my friend. Susah! susah! nak contact all the malay girls.........

voon chan, i think 1987 was the last year i was at all a pendiam. before that i was kecoh, but shy lah...i kecoh with my family oni. in school very baik one - obey the rules and everything! then masuk Form 1, terus jadi hantu pulak!!! :D

here's a good reason why i was so good in primary school, in 1982 (sorry, out of the 83-87 time limit), when i was in Standard 1, on the first day, the headmaster Mr Lim Kah Cheok walked over to me. i was one of the few kids unaccompanied by a parent sebab my mum dropped me off, kissed me, told me to be good and to ikut cakap cikgu, and then she went off to ACS secondary to teach. so after assembly and the headmaster introduced himself during assembly - as we were milling about afterwards, he came over to me and said "Are you Jamalludin's daughter? Jamalludin UMBC?"

i almost terkencing dalam seluar i was so scared the guru besar on DAY ONE terus come and talk to me. kept thinking - hmmm what could i have done by now? belum 30 minutes pun at school?? so i answered him "Yes, sir, Jamalludin is my father"

he starts laughing and says "Did you know i taught your father? Please tell him i said hello".

and then he walked away.

ada ke?? i thought it was code for "I know who you are, girl, and i'm watching you. If you do even ONE bad thing i will tell your father who immediately will rotan you"

so? i did not really do anything interesting in school in primary school.. :D

sounds like he really messed up your mind. I was pretty much the quiet type too (ask VC and James they can vouch for this!), but mine was coz i was the new guy in school, txferred in mid-86 from Saint Michaels Ipoh. Can really be disorienting being transplanted mid way your school and from all boys to a co-ed school, I didnt know how to carry myself then, malu sampai nak meluat and menyampah tengok (wait a minit i'm talking bout myself here :o )

Agreed, having the HM know you is just as bad as having Big Brother watching :worried:

no la ath & vc, the fact that on hari pertama of school the guru besar tells me he knows my dad - itu yang buat takut!! seriously - i would rather the teacher punish me teruk-teruk than tell my parents i did something bad! betul! my parents' punishment sure 20x lebih teruk than anything the teachers will do!! scared lah...nanti kena rotan

vc - in secondary school baru i dare to talk back like that.. :D i figured out i got too big to be rotaned effectively kot? ;) no lah i just got tired of being so law abiding. boring lah.. although in form 1, our guru kelas was Puan Eaishah (who was one of my mum's good friends and had often come to our house and stuff) so i was just waiting to die of mortification tunggu Puan Eaishah silap cakap and call me "Adik" in class instead of "Hasila" :laugh: (form 1 in 1988) i just knew my classmates would not let that die down ever! luckily she was a total pro and never called me "Adik" ever again.. hahahaaha

awww i hope kita orang sitiawan were all nice to you when you first transferred! that's rough - pindah sekolah like that. i had the opposite - went from ACS to all girls school in form 4 - talk about culture shock!! :D

and Big Brother, the HM AND my dad were all watching me. i'm convinced of it.. :smile-2:

well, i guess i'm very different from you. 1985 i think, my mom decided to send me to music class..so she found this music school, with some fat, curly-haired, grumpy lady as the teacher....dem, she's pure evil i tell u...i was abt 4+. can't even hold pencil properly, that idiot woman, wanted me to write out a whole page of treble clefs....fist page, her daugther helped me :D she drew dotted lines of treble clefs and i just had to connect the dots..then the mom said, next page i must do on my own. you know la...budak kechik mana la boleh, so i drew a bunch of squiggles on teh page.. she got mad..and start smacking my hand with a ruler 'until' i got it right...i nangis from that time until the time my mom picked me up..and cried all the way home...haha..my mom took me out of the school immediately

i play the piano..heheh...when i was in sitiawan, i had two teachers...one was a school in wisma ganda...can't rmbr the name...the 2nd was opposite nanhwa!

so my classmates had all the different comments (i.e., "Cikgu, mak saya tak bagi pasang radio. Saya kena duduk dalam bilik saya dan baca buku", etc.)

so i went home, looked it up in the encyclopaedia ("Sexual Intercourse"), read it. next day, i told my classmates what sex was. and everyone was like "mana boleh"?? WHAT goes WHERE??

so i said, tak percaya? ok i bring the book tomorrow. so next day i dragged volume Sa-Sh (i think it ended at Sh) of the set, showed everyone. "Sexual intercourse occurs when a male and a female lie adjacent to each other and the male inserts the penis into the female's vagina". something very close to that blurb.. all of us went "Ewwwww yuckkkkk". in the end after reading that, i still had no idea what sex really was. the book was far too clinical and got no illustrations oso... then of course, the question was "What is a vagina?" hahahaahahahaha

i never did bring volume "V" in to explain that question..

That was touching mate. [I must say that this Forum thing started by DA BOSS is the next best thing since .....eeerrr... our ACS annual Sports Day!]

I can still remember all those days like it was yesterday! I agreed 100%. The only stress then was the EXAM. That is, if you are like me, hated the school texts (except Sejarah) AND the school bags (unless the same bag used for camping and stuff; yeah.. way to go.. he..he..) BUT not the School! :D

On the whole, a few ringgit in our wallet is enough to see us thru' the week and our cruising in our old kapcai is only a few ringgit. I spend more in a day now than in a month then. [Amazing]

On the old Sitiawan bus subject: - Once, somebody slept in the bus (from Ayer Tawar) and instead of the central Sitiawan bus stand, he woke up in Lumut! :confused:

Any interesting stories while taking the bus?
well i have a story that took place in 1984 i believe, when i was in standard 3 and my neighbor Lina (puan normah's daughter) was in standard 4. we were both in the Brownies, and usually on tuesday afternoon after brownies meeting we used to take the bus together (Kg Koh to Sitiawan 15 sen, change buses at Sitiawan, take lumut bus to taman pegawai, 15 sen). we got extra 50 sen pocket money on tuesdays so we can take the bus and even buy ourselves 1 packet of air tebu while waiting for the bus.

well, one day, we decided that we were NOT going to take the bus. because it was "not far" from school to taman pegawai if you walked through Taman Shahriman cut across come out at the Jalan Lumut entrance and walk on home. should take us no time at all. so we had the bright idea that it would be a big adventure to WALK home (remember, i'm 9 and she's 10 at this point). plus then we could keep the extra 30sen bus fare and do something else with the money (we might have been collecting stickers or something, i forget exactly).

so we walked. both puan noraini and cik noraini the brownie teachers separately stopped their cars on the road to ask if we needed a lift, but lina and i told them we had money for the bus and we were fine. so on we walked. we walked and we walked and we walked. finally we reached the entrance to Taman Shahriman via kg koh (by Chung Ching). it took us quite a while to get there, man. and of course, we 2 girls weren't even really supposed to be crossing the road without our parents or an adult but whatever, we made it. then we walked through Taman Shahriman and almost got chased by dogs (didn't think about the damn dogs running around chasing kids). finally we were walking on the road to jalan lumut and Cikgu Sharani (i think, i forget how to spell his name - malay teacher, ambidextrous due to accident in childhood where he could not use his right hand) stopped his car and asked if we needed a lift. i bet by then we looked like we were dying. lina and i were both extremely tired. but our parents had told us never to get a lift with an adult if we didn't know them well, and if our parents hadn't said it was OK. so even though we wanted to get the lift, we both said no, we were close to home.

and then we walked some more. when we got to the entrance of taman pegawai, i wanted to get on the ground and kiss it. home sweet home!! our mothers were sick with worry because it took us one and a half hours to walk from ACS to Taman Pegawai and they expected us home 30 minutes later by bus. we were hot, dusty, tired, thirsty and then got scolded some more...

but we made the walk! the first and last time we thought that was a good idea to skip the bus...

First couple of weeks in Standard 1. Pn Ting was electing her Ketua Darjah and Penolong. Yours truly was elected as Ketua Darjah. Was so excited - couldn't wait to get home to show off to my parents. Thinking that I did them proud, I went home after school (even had to tahan to not say anything while my dad drove both of us home after his teaching session in ACS Secondary) and showed my parents my Ketua Darjah Badge and tie. I couldn't believe my ears at what they said to me ..... "Why so kay poh?! - you think doing kay poh job very nice ah"

My embarassing story - probably (and hopefully) no one will remember, this .

You know how back in Primary School - we have story telling contests (EUJ was really famous for that) - teacher made me represent my class in standard four. Normally for story telling purposes, we would have visuals (pictures drawn or in EUJ's case, puppets to illustrate our story). Being so nervous as I was, I held my first visual/picture upside down - didn't realize why everyone was laughing at me till my friends were frantically signalling me to put the picture the right way up. Can't explain how embarassed I was - in front of the whole primary school somemore! Got second runner up from the back out of 5 story tellers- not bad lah - at least didn't come in last!
